Came on to see how the Scottish international trials are doing. Plenty of info about England. (Good luck to all this weekend), but not much about Scotland. Can we have more on how the national team and group for Europe are doing? Junior and Senior Pair, plus the individuals. (Saw the national group at meadowbank recently and thought they were fab.) SBTA site is the same. Their calendar says their trials were at the start of March but they are still advertising last years selected athletes. What teams/groups/athletes are through to International Cup? |

Wouldn't surprise me that if there is only 2 entries. Loads of girls want to go. There are 2 in our club who would love the chance. According to my coach the people who organise the selections only let there own dance schools enter. The other twirling clubs aren't allowed to enter. So its not a real a Scottish entry. I just wish Scotland had a better system run by decent people. |

Its that time of the year. International events always highlights Scotlands problems. Nothing has changed from 2 years ago. Thread from 2007: http://www.sfbt.org.uk/discus/messages/11/11476.html?1187689565 Think SCOTS empty website is really symbolic http://www.scot-online.org/ |

it is very expensive to travel to australia and if one govering body we would probably get lotto funding athletes pay the price again because of old grudges on three sides and from along time ago |

The scottish athletes are going to France for europeans but im sure they could have found the money to go to australia to. what is the point of stopping them when nobody from sbta is going anyway not as if they would be against each other |

I was really thinking of joining a dance schol thats with the SBTA but starting look elsewhere now. My Dad looked into it a bit and can't believe the world comittee allow these people to speak for Scotland. He says the aims on their website are so shallow. It says "To encourage the widest participation and highest ethical standards". |

Unfortunately all associations seem to be run by dictatorship ? England and Ireland are no different. It is so frustrating when some girls would love to compete but are unable to, Tell me one sport that runs there selections this way,Olympics would be very odd if we didn't send our BEST athletes. Baton twirling will never be recognised all the time it is run this way. |

Hm couple of points in many sports the athletes are selected especially in team events ie football rowing etc and cycling, don't confuse selection process by track and field alone but maybe the intended take over that didn't work upsets you more. |
